Known as 'Producing Nobuta' In english
Follows the adventures of main characters Shuji and Akira as they attempt to turn shy girl Nobuko into the most popular girl in the school.
It starts off with popular kid Shuji Kiritani whom is naturally dating the most popular girl in school, Mariko Uehara. Amongst his classmates is Akira Kusano
whom doesn't appear to have any friends. With the arrival of new girl nobuko kotani the pair team up nicknaming her nobuta and so it begins.

The temporary group Shuji to Akira was formed through this and the theme song 'Seishun Amigo' was released
