So, random update from zefiris again. As I have no life, I spent most of my thanksgiving watching a whole bunch of dramas. A lot of them consists of JE so I decided to do a short review on a bunch of dramas I watched, some more recently than others.
Nobuta Wo Produce
I'm sure a lot of people have watched this before and I watched it kinda late (finished it sometime last week or so). Not to mention I watched Kurosagi before this. ^_^ Anyways for those of you who don't know the story its kinda your typical highschool drama where they turn the most uncool girl on campus into the most popular girl with a slight twist and some deviations. Of course, the infamous Shuji and Akira were formed from this drama.
I have to say that Kame (Shuji) was dissapointing to watch (thought I'm a little biased because I am not a huge Kame fan). I thought his character lacked depth. He was actually quite selfish though they tried very hard to make him seem the opposite. He was always thinking about himself and his popularity. In addition to his poorly written character, Kame was below par as an actor. I didn't feel anything for his character at all. In the end I felt irritated with him. I have suffienciently managed to get through watching him in Gokusen but I was so annoyed with him in this drama. Now everytime I see him I feel agitated.
Yamapi as Akira suprised me a little. While the majority would say the most difficult part of his character is his weirdness, I feel otherwise. I mean, have you seen clips of him in the backstage of summary? If not, take a look at that and then rethink your opinion. I think he conveys the most depth out of all the characters though. His serious side which places his friends above himself and his unwillingness to change his weird personality to fit in with others are all part of it. After watching this, I actually liked Yamapi more than I used to (not that I was a big fan before either.)
Horikita Maki also starred. I think she did fairly well for such a young age.
Gokusen 2
Basically a repeat of Gokusen 1 with Kame and Jin in it instead. Didn't get much out of this. Its pure mindless entertainment. I think there were only two positives to this drama. One was the amusing imitation of Kame that Jin made saying "kyou, passu." And the other was Koike Teppei who I thought was adorable and has potential as an actor.
Kurosagi
Watched this a while back but its basically about Yamapi (Kurosagi/Kurosaki) being a swindler. Horikita Maki who starred with him in Nobuta is back also. Other than the fact that Yamapi looked hot with his dark hair, this drama didn't really capture me much. I think noin likes it a lot though.
Anego
A romatic comedy with Jin as one of the main stars. Basically a story of a working woman in her thirties trying to overcome basic obstacles in life like getting married. Also deals with the typical older woman/younger man relationship. Generally quite entertaining for those who enjoy a good romantic comedy. The only rant is that the side story of Eriko and her husband. I find her extremely annoying and excruciating to watch. Shinohara Ryoko, the main actress did a good job playing Naoko or Anego. Jin was decent as Kurosawa kun (lots of eye candy) though major fans would think he probably needs more screentime. Overall a pretty good romantic comedy and I would recommend it.
Other random drama: Iryu
While its not quite a JE drama I thought I would just recommend it just because it was so good. Its been a while since I was so captivated by a drama. Has a strong cast, great OST (won an award), and good script, not to mention Koike Teppei from Gokusen 2. ^_^ Its actually a medical drama so for those who are weak in the stomach I would give a slight warning (however, I daresay Grey's Anatomy probably shows more gore). Highly recommend it though!
Anyways I just wrote like a mini essay on dramas and I was about to write more but I thought it seems a little out of place on the update page. lol. If people like it though, I would probably expand a little more next time. Hmmm....I always do the most random of posts. Oh well, at least noin is well informed on the latest news.
As a side note: I downloaded a whole bunch of shounen clubs and realized Tegoshi from NEWS actually has a pretty good voice. LoL.
OH! Now I recall something I can actually say is an update on JE news.
KATTUN's new single Bokura no Machi de will be officially released on Dec 7. (I could have sworn I saw a pic of the cover but when I was hunting for it, like over an hour now, I can't find it, so the above will have to do). It's their first new song without Jin and for me its a little wierd now that hes not singing all the backups harmonizing with Kame. For a sample of the song see the Best Artists Clip below.

Another random thought, everyone remember Uchi Hiroki formerly of NewS and Kanjani8? All this time I was thinking his high voice reminds me of another Johnny....well actually I haven't been wondering all this time, it just hit me yesterday when I was listening to "All of Me For You"....anyway, his voice reminds me of SMAP's Kusanagi Tsuyoshi....lol....it's probably just me who thinks that.
Well while I'm on the topic of K8, another random thought....I wonder who would replace Subaru, like in the case if he were to get sick for a little while and he can't perform (hope that doesn't happen btw, but hey he's human)...I mean he gets all the really good parts....I know Okura and Ryo took over all of Uchi's parts...but Subaru is in every song! Would Ryo be the one man show?? Or perhaps someone who actually has a high voice....like Maru and Yassu...they pretty much only get to do the rap solos....or maybe the great leader Yoko will do it...I've only heard him sing a solo once, besides in FTO. I really have no idea about Hina if he would do it.

Well I don't really know what to update today....it's going to a busy last 2 weeks of the semester...so don't kill me if I don't update as much, I'm sure zelfiris will be updating. We need more members!!! ^_^ More contributors!!
I dunno about anyone else, and I know this is really old, but I've only recently started to like Golf and Mike's Run For Your Love. I normally don't like slow ballads and I really can't tell the differences between their voices, I mean I know there are 2 different voices, but I don't know which is Mike's and which is Golf's yet....i should watch their vid i guess. But yeah I know it's an old song, but I only recently got the Fever to Future single...i'm so slow on stuff that's not k8 or TxT...
I would love it if we had a member who knew more about the current jrs....

UPDATE ON HANA YORI DANGO 2!!!!
I'm sure most of you know that it's taking place in NY for the first few episodes...Inoue Mao (Tsukushi) looks exactly the same....She is my bday twin! ^_^ I dunno I thought it was cool that I'm a few hours younger than her lol...ok so it's not that cool. F4 looks hotter than before though I must say, Matsujun's hair is a little different but still has Domyouji's curls....actually i think it's a lot closer to what it's supposed to be, and for some odd reason, Matsujun looks younger lol (in my opinion). Oguri Shun....hot...lol....and of course the apple makes its reappearance. I'm so excited! Only 2 more months for its airing!
Oh yeah, talking about jdoramas, Yamapi and Koki's Byakkotai airs on January 6, part 2 on January 7! It's a special historical drama....kinda like Takki's Yoshitsune, just not as long lol. Yoshitsune is pretty good though, not really a big taiga dorama fan (even though I'm a japanese history major -_-') but he has done pretty well.
Is anyone going to purchase Kanjani8's new single? Kanfu (Kung Fu) Fighting? I haven't decided on it....it's supposed to be released on December 13, in 8 different varieties. Naturally I want the Okura (Green) one....not too keen on the song but I guess I have to get used to it first. It's on preorder on CD Japan.

Just a random update due to my will to procrastinate instead of studying for a chem exam. *ewwww* Anyways since this front page seems lacking of pics and I thought "well, everyone loves pictures, especially of JE stars," I decided to put up random pics for the day/week/or whenever I plan to procrastinate and update again. hahaha.
So I was mentioning once to noin that everyone seems to want a piece of Okura in K8 in this pic. Its mostly Ryo touching him but it does look like theres tons of hands on him somehow.
Well I just happen to find another pic that reminded me of that topic..Heres one of Bakanishi wanting a piece of Okura too.

Today is Joshima Shigeru's bday! The bass guitarist and leader of TOKIO! He is now 36.
Here's a random question, how many guys do you think actually like Johnny's?? Just out of curiosity. I've seen quite a few male fans and they always say that they're not gay, especially for Takki and Tsubasa and Arashi. I mean I know most ppl who visit here are probably girls, but I wonder if JE is quite popular among the guys, I've never really thought about it before because I've been so focused on just the Johnny's lol...
Well no one really has to reply to this, it was just a thought.

What a coincidence. I was thinking about the same topic the other days as I was watching Johnny's Sports Day 2003. While its a sports event thing which guys would probably enjoy more, I was wondering in a clip which showed all the fans lined up to enter the stadium...were those guys in the clip there because their girlfriends forced them to go? or are they there because they are Johnny's fans? Random ne?
On another side note, I always wonder what Johnny Kitagawa is like. Saw the pic of him on blogs which he looked really shrimpy and uptight (if the info is correct). Also it seems like KATTUN likes to imitate him and his accent. They imitated him during Heyx3 and in a fancam concert clip. He seems really weird and random, or maybe its just the way KATTUN portrays him.
Oh well, no actual news update from me today, just comments to noin's update. lol. I'm probably more of the random commentator than the up to date news person.

I wish i were in Tokyo....Iwo Jima Kara Tegami premiered yesterday....I don't think Nino was there though, only saw pics of Clint Eastwood and Ken Watanabe...it's supposed to be released in February in the states, primiering in LA and New York on the December 22....the dates keep changing! I hear it's better than Flags of Our Fathers...which was not that bad by the way.
Ok, I think people are finding that I'm really weird, so i'm thinking that I might just let someone else take over...-_-' maybe zefiris1 can take over?? oh well, we shall see.

Ok i know i'm really late on this news, but i've been so busy to work on this site because of midterms, so here's a quickie update:
KATTUN is no longer KATTUN....yes Akanishi Jin a.k.a. bakanishi has retired to do some studying, maybe i'll put the newscast up later. Don't really have any other news right now, maybe later.

Ok i know i'm really late on this news, but i've been so busy to work on this site because of midterms, so here's a quickie update:
KATTUN is no longer KATTUN....yes Akanishi Jin a.k.a. bakanishi has retired to do some studying, maybe i'll put the newscast up later. Don't really have any other news right now, maybe later.
